Factory Function Retention Standard: What Will Still Work—and How Closely Will the Upgrade Match the Original Car?

Direktan odgovor: applicable core vehicle functions must first operate correctly. Only then are function continuity, original controls, vehicle data and warnings, physical architecture, factory-style UI and installation integration scored against two published comparison baselines.
100/100 is a theoretical ideal reference: it is not presented as a normal real-world result or a promise that an aftermarket product becomes an original factory component. A result below 100 identifies documented differences in integration; it does not mean the vehicle loses the same percentage of functions or becomes unsafe to drive.
Product scope: every conclusion applies only to the identified iKAGOO-supplied product route, reviewed vehicle baseline, screen or mainboard version, harness and pin standard, CANBUS or interface route, firmware and required supporting modules. It cannot be transferred to a visually similar product from another seller.

Why this is an iKAGOO evaluation standard rather than a general sales claim
The method publishes the comparison baselines, dimension weights, indicator importance, performance levels, formulas, core-function gate and evidence rules so a buyer can see how a result was reached. A score is not assigned from product appearance, a supplier feature list or an unsupported “retains everything” statement.
Applicable indicators create the score
Each applicable indicator is graded independently in every dimension it affects. Core indicators use weight ×3, Important indicators ×2 and Supporting indicators ×1. N/A items are removed from the denominator.
Evidence controls publication, not performance
Level A or B evidence can support a formal result, Level C remains provisional and Level D receives no public score. Evidence strength does not artificially increase or reduce the observed numerical result.
The conclusion follows the supplied technical route
The same exterior design does not prove the same display panel, mainboard, wiring, CANBUS supplier, firmware, camera interface, audio path or production standard.
Non-transferability: an iKAGOO score or retention conclusion may not be copied to, quoted as proof for or used to approve a product purchased from another seller, marketplace or non-iKAGOO channel. iKAGOO cannot verify hardware, harnesses, CANBUS solutions, firmware or production changes it did not supply and review.
Which factory functions can remain after an Android head unit or digital instrument cluster upgrade?

One comparison baseline cannot accurately judge every consequence of a vehicle electronics upgrade. The first three dimensions compare the upgraded route with the vehicle’s original factory behavior. The last three compare the installed result with a realistic, vehicle-specific ideal OEM-style upgrade state.

This baseline allows a reasonable modernized design while still measuring screen position, proportions, UI language, module concealment and final installation discipline.
Core-function gate: there is no minimum passing score for an individual dimension. If an applicable primary function—such as essential driving data, critical warnings, required camera operation, primary audio or a required control route—is incorrect or unresolved, the final score is not published.

Scores come from applicable indicators, performance levels and published weights
The method does not use fixed deductions such as “a larger screen always loses 12 points.” Each indicator starts from the theoretical best contribution in every affected dimension, then retains 100%, 90%, 70%, 40% or 0% of its weighted contribution according to the verified performance level.

A reverse camera can be OEM-Equivalent for automatic trigger, Near-OEM for installation hardware, and a Functional Difference for image overlays. Each consequence is evaluated separately.
Evidence does not alter the numerical score
Level A or B can support a formal result, Level C remains provisional, and Level D receives no public score. Evidence strength controls publication and confidence—not the observed performance coefficient.

Assume the core gate has passed: radio and music playback work, primary audio output is normal, the reverse camera triggers correctly, climate or required vehicle settings remain available, and no essential warning or driving function is affected.

Interpretation: the vehicle can remain fully drivable and the applicable core purposes can remain normal even when the physical architecture or UI does not reach the theoretical ideal. The named indicator results explain the difference more clearly than the overall number alone.
Each image should support a named dimension—not act as proof for the whole vehicle route
Google and buyers can understand evidence more clearly when a real image sits beside a precise explanation of what it demonstrates, what it does not prove and which technical record must accompany it. These images are part of the public method; none replaces vehicle-specific functional testing.

Because availability, automatic trigger, parking data, overlay graphics and decoder installation are different consequences. The image may be fully available in Function Continuity while the overlay or hardware route receives a lower Data, UI or Installation grade.
